Two Journalists Detained in North Korea have been Released

laura-ling-and-euna-lee-sentenced-in-north-koreaIPI welcomes the release of US journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee, who were detained on March, 17 close to the North Korean border with China and had been sentenced to 12 years hard labour. They have been released after surprise visit of former US President Bill Clinton, who met with the country’s leader, Kim Jong Il. According to the information given to IEPF by IPI, the plane carrying the former President and the two journalists has already arrived at Burbank airport, near Los Angeles. International Eurasia Press Fund started the implementation of a new project

Harsh Draft Law Intending Jail for Journalists has been made in Venezuela

Venezuela’s Attorney-General Luisa Ortega Diaz introduced a harsh new draft law that intends jail for up to four years for journalists. The “Special Draft Law against Media Crimes” which was presented before the National Assembly on July, 30, includes severe prison sentences for different media offences. Davamı »
