The Foundation for the Vocation Training Centre was laid in Terter

The foundation for the Vocation Training Centre for mine victims and retired de-miners was laid in Terter region. Ms. Deborah Netland, an officer of US Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs and Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA), who was accompanied by Mr. Darren Manning, an officer of US Presidential Management Fellowship participated in the foundation ceremony. Vidadi Isayev, the Head of Executive Authorities of Terter region also took part in the event. Umud Rehimoglu, chairman of International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) gave information about this event.
He said that Ms. Netland came to get acquainted with the project implemented by IEPF: “As it is known International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) began implementing of the project “Establishment of Regional Vocation Training Centre for mine victims and retired de-miners in Terter region of Azerbaijan since July 1 of this year. The project is being implemented on the grant resources made available by the US Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, Office of Weapons Removal and Abatement (PM/WRA). The main aim of the project which will be implemented till the end of 2010 is to reintegrate mine victims and mine clearance retirees into society by fostering employment opportunities in the Tartar District. Much work has already been done according to the activity plan of the project. The Vocation Training Centre which will be established in Terter within the project will be an ideal business school in the direction of teaching of new skills and abilities. Trainings on carpet-weaving, advertisement-design, painting, household skills and other occupations will be conducted in the Vocation Training Centre. Graduates from the center will get support in order to be provided with work suitable for their abilities. The aim of Ms. Deborah’s visit to Terter region was to get acquainted with execution of the project.”
U. Rehimoglu also said that the guests were shown the project plan of a 2 storey building for the Vocation Training Centre which consists of rooms, conference hall, warehouse, kitchen etc.: “We presented them progress report of Vocation Training Centre. It should be noted that the territory, on which Vocation Training Centre will be built, was presented to us by Executive Authorities of Terter region. Executive Authorities took into consideration all necessary factors in allocating the space: nearness to main road, water source, electricity and access to lands for practice of people who will be involved in the trainings.”
Deborah Netland was also informed about the activities of “Azerbaijan Mine Victims Association” and Eurasia Credit LTD which were founded by IEPF. She expressed her gratitude in the activity of both organizations.
The site upon in which Vocation Training Centre will be built was viewed. Ms. Deborah Netland, Vidadi Isayev, the Head of Executive Authorities of Terter region and U. Rehimoglu cut red ribbon indicating official commencement of construction and thereafter laid the foundation board in the territory.
