International Eurasia Press Fund

Chairman of International Eurasia Press Fund met with Ann Thomas, the Head of communication service of Information Service of UN Office Vienna section and Maria Naderhirn, the Liaison Officer on the work with NGOs/CSO.

The main purpose of the meeting was to exchange opinions on cooperation and to review future perspectives.

Umud Mirzayev gave information about International Eurasia Press Fund and spoke about establishment of the organization, its activity directions, implemented events and sphere of interest. It was noted that, IEPF implemented many joint projects with UN organizations, US Department of State, European Commission, Baku Information Department of UN and other international institutions up to now. And IEPF has got a Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of UN (ECOSOC).

Officials of UN were interested in the information about projects and trainings implemented by IEPF which are connected with media and civil society in Azerbaijan, and the monitoring conducted by the organization.

Activity priorities of UN Information Service were informed and the creation of effective cooperation in future was discussed.

Umud Mirzayev also met with Maher Nasser, the Head of UN Information Service. Possible directions of future cooperation were determined and exchange of information and joint projects were discussed. Possibility of joint projects between civil societies of Europe and Azerbaijan were also touched upon. Maher Nasser expressed his hope in establishing of effective cooperation between both sides in future.
